Project: Re-design (Original Character)
A fursona is a personalized anthropomorphic character, typically used in online communities or fandoms, that represents a person’s identity through traits like species, colours, and personality. It's a way for individuals to express themselves creatively within the furry fandom.
This project involves completely redesigning a client’s fursona, focusing on refreshing and elevating their character’s look while maintaining its core traits. The redesign process was a collaborative effort to capture the essence of the client's original concept, with updates to colors, details, and overall style to reflect their personality and vision better.
The result is a vibrant and unique character that stands out, making it both an artistic expression and a personal representation that better represents their current self.
At first the client just wanted an update to the character....
But then as things went on, they wanted give more elements to the character that helped show its backstory...
This character is meant to be a soldier from a future war...
I suggested during the process to give the character some battle wounds...
Which quickly went from simple scars to full on cybernetic arm/hand...
The first cybernetic replacement was considered to aggressive in design...
So, with ease, I changed it to something more simplistic...
The client wanted to also see what the other arm would look like with a half cybernetic replacement (taking inspiration from Robocop)...
Thanks to an existing colour palette, the final steps were incredibly easy.
